Professional Welding: From Beginners Tips to Advanced Techniques

Join welding expert Gary Holbrook for our half-day workshop for professional propeller repairers and rookies alike. This technical educational session will offer participants a range of information from a refresher on safety and best practices, MIG and TIG applications, metal preparation, and inspection/evaluation procedures, to tips for welding different propeller metals, welding with specialty rods, inboard welding, and a discussion on the comparison between transformer and inverter. Attendees will walk away with a hand-out of useful tips, tricks and beneficial information.

PROPOLOGY: Everything You Already Know About Propellers But Are Still Afraid To Ask…
  Join Frank & Jimmie’s President & COO Don MacRae as he hosts a highly interactive but anonymous audience participation session to explore the “science and the art” of propeller technology.  Using the latest in audience polling technology and drawing from the NMPA Propeller Certification Curriculum, Don will provide you the opportunity to test your knowledge of propeller nomenclature, function, design and geometry against you peers while providing real time group feedback.  This isn’t one of those stuffy “silence your cell phones and put them away” seminars; cell phone use is encouraged and required so bring your latest technology and show off your stuff!

The entire session will be lively Q&A designed to get you woke up, fired up and ready for the day, focusing on concepts important to everyone who owns and manages a shop in the marine propeller industry.

Determining ISO Compliance from a Laser Scan
A pair of 30×34 4-blade props were digitized with a laser scanner. From those 3D models, the ISO class was determined using the TrueProp software.

This session will be an interactive format and is gauranteed to have as many opinions or more as it will have participants.
